When it comes to the various types of feeding bottles for newborns, there are majorly 3 kinds of it:
1 Plastic Bottles
Plastic bottles are the most common type of baby feeding bottle as they can be easily used, cleaned, and disposed of after a few weeks or months of usage. It is also more efficient and cost-effective than the other two types.
The best advantage of plastic bottles is that they are convenient for usage, safe, and don’t have the worry of breaking or shattering under pressure or fall. It can also be easily bought, stored, and disposed of at convenience. The negative aspect of plastic bottles is that they need efficient cleaning and thorough sterilization.
Milk may be accumulated in the crevices of the bottle and may get spoilt. This is why it needs to be cleaned effectively after each use. Some models of bottles may also contain harmful chemicals such as BPA, parents must ensure that the bottles they buy are BPA-free and safe for infants.
2 Glass Bottles
Glass bottles are expensive but easier to clean and use than plastic bottles. These bottles can be easily dishwasher and are usually more long-lasting than plastic bottles. A few bottles may last the parent for many months with good care.
Unlike plastic bottles, they have no chemicals and can be easily stored in refrigerators or dishwashers effectively. They can also be sterilized more thoroughly than plastic bottles. The downside to having glass bottles is that they may shatter under pressure or if the baby drops the bottle accidentally. Also, they are more expensive than plastic bottles
3 Disposable Bottles
Disposable bottles are also quite expensive but they can be efficiently used and thrown away after every few usages. This means that a parent does not have to spend hours cleaning and sterilizing the bottles and can rest assured that the bottles are free from chemicals and deterrents. All they need to do is boil the bottle in hot water and it’s good to go.
The downside to disposable bottles is that the parent must keep buying these often and they are not very cost-effective either. They also have non-biodegradable parts which are not safe for the planet.
